“I always do what I say I will do.”  “My word is my bond.”  We all hear these phrases and have probably said them ourselves many times.

Have you ever considered that the one person you break the most agreements with is yourself?

The truth is…when you break agreements with others, there will be accountability and consequences.  On the other hand, when you break an agreement with yourself, no one else knows, and you use excuses as justification of your unwillingness to keep your agreement, and therefore give yourself permission to fail.

Keeping your word is the first step to building character, and it is the first step to becoming a leader.  Always doing exactly what you say you will do allows you to create the life of your dreams and a legacy for future generations.
